?Local Author visits Our School

Posted on: June 7th, 2017 by Mr J White in Information for Parents

Paddy Cahill, a local author came into school for a reading of two of his books. P1 and 2 particularly enjoyed hearing What Little Robin Saw, as it reinforced their learning about the process of metamorphosis that occurs from caterpillar to butterfly. Paddy brought along Ingrid Hoogerwerf, who is the illustrator of The Tales of Young King Arthur. Ingrid told us all about the different stages she went through to get the finished illustrations for the book. All of the children were encouraged to take part in an art competition for which Paddy and Ingrid will return to select the prize winners. This was a fabulous opportunity to gain an appreciation of some of the local talent that surrounds us.
