The school came alive today with a range of characters entering the doors to celebrate World Book Day. Each class undertook age appropriate activities and after much deliberation among staff, some prizes were awarded for these. A big ‘Thank you’ goes to everyone at home who supported their children in providing some really fantastic costumes….
Pupils from St Michael’s visited St Malachy’s , Ballymoyer as part of a cross culture experience. P5-P7 pupils have been studying the World Around Us Topic of Food and Farming. The creative element of the topic involved the design and building of a model tractor. Clearly there has been a lot of thought and effort went into the work.
The pupils and families of St Michael’s PS did ourselves proud with the fundraising effort for the NSPCC. The fantastic amount of £615 was raised for this very important charity. Alison, from the NSPCC, says it would be one of the highest amounts ever per child in the school. Well done everyone!
To celebrate the Halloween midterm break the children came to school in their scary outfits. The effort from all children was fantastic and added to the holiday atmosphere. Have a happy and safe break.
