Our school was very saddened in February when we heard of the loss of our great friend, John Joe Toner (RIP). His loss was greatly felt by his friends and club mates from Clady.
In memory of John Joe, we held a raffle on St Patrick’s Day to raise money for The Children’s Heartbeat Trust, a charity which helped John Joe and his family while in hospital. Sean South GAC also sold stew in the Hall after mass and together we raised a fantastic £1000 for the charity.
At the presentation, the CHT representative thanked everyone involved in raising the amount to support the valuable work they do.
The cheque was presented by Cormac and Art from Primary 7 along with Mr White and Mr Clarke & Mrs Savage who represented Sean South GAC. We are delighted that John Joe’s mummy Maria & his baby brother Daniel were at the presentation too.
Thanks to everyone who made a contribution to the fundraising, it is very much appreciated.
