On Saturday 13th May, we celebrated the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. The five girls and four boys gathered with their families at St Michael’s Church for this special occasion. Fr Gregg celebrated a beautiful mass where the pupils led the prayers, readings, offertory and reflections. Special thanks to the choir, prepared by Genny, Patrica Hagan and Cathy Crozier for accompanying the children and to Sarah Devlin and Eli Toner who provided additional music. A presentation was made to Miss Toner for the great effort in preparing the children for the Sacrament and all the work involved to ensure it passed off so successfully. Our classroom assistants, Briege, Joan and Claire made a great contribution to the ceremony with all the work put into printing booklets, putting up displays and helping the pupils prepare.
After the mass, we were all treated to a lovely tea in the Hall hosted by The Friends Of St Michael’s; it was very much appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this such a beautiful day.Tags: 2016/17, First Communicants, First Communion, Sacrament of Holy Communion
