? St Michael’s Win Mid-Armagh Title at Blitz

Posted on: November 28th, 2017 by Mr J White in Information for Parents

On Monday 27th November, the girls from St Michael’s Clady set off for the Leisure Centre in Armagh for an indoor gaelic football competition.
As the smallest school in the competition, it came as a great shock to the bigger schools when Clady powered their way through to the final. Wins over Our Lady’s, Tullysaran, St Patrick’s, Armagh and St Oliver Plunket’s, Ballyhegan meant we played CBS, Armagh in the final.
At the end of full time the game was a draw. Extra time was played but the teams could not be separated. It was decided to continue playing with the first team to score winning the title. The honour of putting the ball in the back of the net fell to Mallaidh Loughran, and the title was ours.
The team will progress to the All County Finals to be played after Christmas.
Team: Mallaidh Loughran, Caitlin Doyle, Eimear Savage, Niamh Murphy, Katie Rose McCooey and Ella Gorman. Orlaith Hunter was injured but will rejoin the team in the new year alongside Molly Mae McParland.

Well done girls!
